![]() | Caryn Law, Principal Dancer General Skills in ATS Certified by Carolena Nericcio of FCBD Caryn has been a musician all of her life, playing a variety of instruments ranging from piano to flute to bass guitar, but she had always shied away from dance until she discovered tribal style belly dance. One day she realized that dancing with other women in American Tribal Style Belly Dance often felt like a perfect jam session with a group of great musicians, and from then on she was hooked. Now she is teaching, learning and dancing with Skin Deep and hopes to continue honing her dance skills and creating great improv dancing art with other like-minded women. |
![]() | Kristen Beifus, Company Dancer The first time Kristen saw a quartet of Tribal Belly dancers circle up; with the energy and joy between the dancers she was brought to tears and knew she had to join this beautiful community. Now having just completed her first year it feels like home. Kristen has lived overseas for many years and enjoys both being on the move and experiencing cultural diversity, which is why this dance style is so appealing and nourishing. She dapples in other dance styles including Salsa, Flamenco and Bhangra. Now back in the Pacific Northwest she wants to be outside as much as possible cycling, hiking and picnic-ing. Kristen is also passionate about social justice issues with a particular focus on promoting fair labor practices in the US and globally. She has been known to write the occasional poem and adores the challenge of improv both in word and movement. |
