Consignment times:

Merchandise is accepted by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 206-322-9500 or message us!

Consignments can also be sent by UPS or the postal service.  YOU MUST contact us before shipping.  Unacceptable items received this way will be donated to charity or returned at consignor's expense.

Acceptable consignments:

Tribal Belly Dance & Cabaret Belly Dance Costuming,  Bollywood Dance Costuming, Flamenco Dance Costuming. We accept skirts, choli's, dance tops, hip scarves, fringe, jewelry, finger cymbals, castanets, lehengas, dupattas, salwar kameez, sari's. pantaloons, dance pants, dance belts, coin bras, bindi, veil, scarves, DVD's, CD's, dance books, dance art, ethnic fashion, ethnic decor, drums and more....

Any item requiring dry cleaning will be cleaned at the consignor's expense.

 Items accepted and later found to have spots, holes, missing buttons, etc. will be automatically donated.

Unacceptable consignments:

Uncleaned, unpressed, or stained clothing with missing buttons, frayed linings, rips, tears, moth holes, odors (smoke or mothballs), with PET HAIRS on clothing.

Sales Periods:

Articles accepted will be placed on sale during the selling season or extended at the sole discretion of Skin Deep Dance.  

Consignment period is for 100 days.  After 100 days, Items will go thru three (3) periodic markdowns, 20%, 50% and 75%. 

Donations:

Residual clothing is donated to selected charities. Currently we are using Life Longs Aids Alliance. The disposition of all unclaimed items is the sole responsibility of Skin Deep Dance. And, unless scheduled for pick up, merchandise will be donated to charity 10 days after the end of the consignment period (100th day).

Initial Pricing:

If you choose to have us price your merchandise...Skin Deep Dance will set the price based on items original price, as well as, the desirability and condition of the merchandise.

Here is a general guideline you can use to price your items:

  • Skirts $20-$50
  • Choli's $10-$20
  • Hip Scarves $5-$25
  • Fringe $10-$25
  • Pantaloons $10-$18
  • Jewelry $2-$50
  • Finger Cymbals $5-$20
  • CD's/DVD's $2-$15
  • Books $2-$30
General:

After 90 days you may pick-up the remaining items or they will be donated to charity 10 days after the end of the consignment period (100th day). Consignor needs to call and schedule an appointment to pick-up remaining items since items will need to be pulled from the racks prior to pick-up.

Skin Deep Dance makes their best effort to merchandise, sell and care for all consignments. However, all consignments are left at the owner's risk. Skin Deep Dance is not responsible for lost, stolen, or ‘try-on’ damaged clothes due to negligent handling or any other cause.

Payment:

Consignor will receive 50-70% of the selling price. Checks will be mailed to the consignor at least 30 days after initial drop off on the 15th of each month.

Professional Consigner (lots of work, best return):

  • Receive 70%
  • Items must be on hangers*
  • All items are tagged and priced by you*
  • *at time of drop off
  • *tags include consigner name, description of item, size

Semi - Professional Consigner (good return without the brainwork):

  • Receive 60%
  • Items must be on hangers*
  • We price and tag items for you.
  • *at time of drop off

Amateur Consigner (don't have time....super easy and worth it):

  • Receive 50%
  • Simply drop off your consignment items
  • We will hang them, tag them and price them for you!
